The data transferral technology known as Bluetooth is a wireless method for exchanging data over short distances. The chip itself can be plugged into computers, digital cameras and mobile phones.
The Bluetooth chip has a main purpose of connecting and exchanging data over a short distance, as an attempt to do away with you personal computers's jungle of wiring, when using a specific radio frequency to transmit the data, it creates a short range network which it ensures that is is very secure and can connect to up to eight devices at one time, this chip is also used to control particular devices around your home and some peripherals that can be plugged into your computer.
The Bluetooth is particularly convenient in certain situations such as if you need to transfer a particular file from one device from another such as a mpeg or an image file or even contacts, but more importantly the chip can be integrated into your PC or laptop's motherboard. The most common is a USB that can simply be plugged in which allows you send music and photos from your phone which can be received from the mobile phone and placed on to the computers hard-drive.
